  • Felix and Squinty

Felix the White and Ginger kitten came to us on the 28/8/2017 with his sister, they were 6 weeks old.

The sister found a home. We had a lot of applications for Felix but nothing came of it.

I had developed a bond with Felix and would socialise with him daily for a few minutes. I looked forward to his warm greetings in the morning.

On the 5/9/2017 Squinty White and Black kitten was handed over to Menzi in Impophomeni.

After a quarantine period he was brought up for Adoption. He was a shy kitten not given to displays of affection.

Over time a bond developed between them. I informed the staff that should Felix not find a home he will become part of our family and join the other office cats.

An application had been submitted for Squinty.

Felix was released on the 19th February and spent the night with the other office cats in the common room. He was readily accepted by them.

The next morning he was back at his cage engaging with Squinty. The reunion was very touching they spent the day wrapped around each other, grooming, sleeping

    and eating together.

The application for Squinty was not successful. We took a decision to also make Squinty a part of the family. It would have been cruel to separate them.

They have fitted in with the gang and bring us such joy. We all agree that it is wonderful having children running around.

They are very active but come nap time they curl up in each others arms.

The ease with which they adapted to the hurly burly of kennel activity, indicates our hands on engagement with our animals up for adoption.

If the dog or cat you fancied from our gallery is not available anymore, please remember that there are always other beautiful animals at our shelter.

Lots of people talk to animals.... Not very many listen, though.... That's the problem. ~Benjamin Hoff, The Tao of Pooh

We support ONLY the circuses that DO NOT use animals of any kind to entertain the crowds. The use of wild animals in Circus acts is inhumane
