Lindani Mkhulisi

Lindani MkhulisYoung Lindani Mkhulisi was captivated by a presentation given by Zodwa Maphanga from the uMngeni SPCA at his school, Sfiso Esihle Primary School in Mpophomeni.   Shortly afterwards, on his way home from school, he heard the persistent and plaintive mewing of a kitten and he searched until he found a bedraggled ginger mite unable to get out of a hole in the ground.   He carefully lifted the kitten out and carried it home where he and his grandfather cared for it overnight.   They couldn’t keep the kitten as they have dogs and were afraid the little fellow would be killed by them and so the next morning he asked his grandfather if he could use his cell phone to call the SPCA for help.

We were so impressed with Lindani’s caring attitude that we presented him with a certificate of appreciation.   What more proof do you need that education is the key to improving the lives of animals in the long term?   We are sure that Lindani will always be caring towards animals and certainly he and his Grandfather are both keen SPCA supporters.   On behalf of the little ginger kitten we say a big thank you to them both for proving that they really do care and taking the trouble to act.

Lots of people talk to animals.... Not very many listen, though.... That's the problem. ~Benjamin Hoff, The Tao of Pooh

We support ONLY the circuses that DO NOT use animals of any kind to entertain the crowds. The use of wild animals in Circus acts is inhumane
