Calling all Corporate and small to middle size companies in Howick, Hilton, Midlands and Merrivale – Here’s how YOU can help our SPCA AND get money back too!

With budgets being set for the New Year and many organisations looking for a ways to reduce their tax liabilities, we would like to offer you, the corporate and small to medium business sector a way to achieve this.

Many people don’t realize that with a donation made to us, you can receive a Section 18A tax certificate that will act as a tax directive on your tax returns.

We are therefore appealing to ALL companies, individuals and small and medium business in our area of jurisdiction to please consider the uMngeni SPCA when deciding to donate money to a charity organization. As the SPCA is a Non-Profit Organisation, we are able to issue the donor with a Section 18A certificate which allows the donor to claim a tax rebate.

We have various initiatives and ways to help you decide whether you would like to include us in a donation, be it once off, or on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis.

Our first initiative is our 100 Club – If a company signs up for this fundraising project, you will sign a direct debit order with a minimum contribution of R100 per month (of course this could be more) and you will automatically be entered into our monthly draw whereby one lucky member will win 10% of the entire 100 Club takings for that month. This initiative could be expanded to hold an in house competition and have as many employees sign up as possible offering a small prize for their charitable contribution. Or, the company could contribute R100 a month on behalf of their employees thus giving them the chance to win the monthly draw! We also challenge all companies to challenge one another to see how many employees and companies can sign up, all with the chance of winning prizes and getting a Section 18A tax certificate.

Another initiative is to just do a monthly debit order of a certain amount that will continue every month – this will also give you a Section 18A certificate and you will be happy to know that you are helping to feel and treat thousands of animals that come through our clinic and kennels each year.

Another way to assist us is to sponsor our 1000 Paws walk which is our biggest fundraiser of the year. If you become part of this fundraiser, you will get branding, free marketing and once again, a Section 18A certificate. Of course, we also have our Litres for Education programme which will literally cost you nothing! All you need to do is pick up a free disc from one of our local outlets or download from our website, keep it in your car and when you visit the BP garage near Fairways, hand in your disc and we will receive 10c per litre.

Let’s keep our SPCA a permanent fixture in a community that desperately needs the assistance of trained animal staff and clinic treatments. After all, isn’t that what community living is all about?

We support ONLY the circuses that DO NOT use animals of any kind to entertain the crowds. The use of wild animals in Circus acts is inhumane
